Boldz at TBA4: Where PORTAL Was Born

In 2025, Boldz proudly partnered with TBA4, one of the most respected international bouldering competitions and a true meeting point for elite route setters, athletes, and brands pushing the sport forward.

For us, TBA4 was more than a competition — it was the moment we officially introduced PORTAL, our newest climbing hold series, released for the first time in a real competition environment.

The Release of PORTAL Holds at TBA4

The PORTAL series made its first public appearance at TBA4, placed directly on competition blocs and tested under pressure by top-level athletes. Designed to create modern, expressive movement and strong visual impact, PORTAL holds were shaped to perform at the highest level while offering route setters a wide range of creative possibilities.

Releasing PORTAL in a competition setting was a deliberate choice , there is no better test than real performance, real athletes, and real movement.

FAN Volumes and Double Texture in Competition

Alongside PORTAL, Boldz volumes were heavily featured throughout the event, including a strong presence of our FAN family with double-texture surfaces. These volumes stood out both visually and functionally, allowing setters to combine friction, contrast, and precise movement in a single element.

Throughout the competition, FAN volumes played a key role in defining the character of the boulders, supporting dynamic sequences, complex body positions, and modern coordination moves.

Feedback from Route Setters and Athletes

One of the most valuable outcomes of TBA4 was the extremely positive feedback we received from both route setters and athletes. From shape readability and texture balance to versatility and performance, the response confirmed that our design direction is aligned with the needs of today’s competition climbing.

These exchanges, discussions, and spontaneous reactions are essential to our process, they directly influence how we refine, evolve, and develop future products.

A Shared Moment for the Climbing Community

Beyond products and performance, TBA4 was about people. It was about collaboration, trust, and the shared passion that drives the climbing community forward. Being part of this environment, backstage, on the walls, and in conversation, was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

We would like to congratulate all the athletes who competed, and especially the winners, for their outstanding performances. We also want to acknowledge every participant who contributed to the energy, intensity, and spirit of the event.

Looking Forward

TBA4 marked a defining chapter for Boldz. The release of PORTAL, the strong presence of our volumes, and the feedback we received all reinforce our commitment to designing climbing holds and volumes that perform at the highest level and inspire movement.

This is only the beginning.
